Why we need to surrender DIN?
In accordance with government regulations, an individual who does not currently possess a DIN may apply for one by completing form DIR-3. However, an individual may not possess more than one DIN. If someone has previously received one DIN and has obtained a second DIN in error, they must give up one DIN to the department. Therefore, it's crucial that the applicant confirms with the DIN database whether or not they have been assigned a DIN before applying for one.
